Northern Metal Products is currently seeking Welders to join our team!

2nd and 3rd shift positions available.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform welding operations to production and quality standards.
  • Complete all required paperwork and computer transactions in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve weld issues.
  • Report quality issues in a timely manner.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Proficiency in MIG welding through education and/or work experience.
  • Read, interpret blueprint drawings and shop papers
  • Knowledge of safety standards for equipment being run
  • Proficient in basic mathematics
  • Ability to easily adapt to changing environment

2nd shift hours:  3:30pm – 12:00am; Monday – Friday.

3rd shift hours:  10:30pm – 7:00am; Sunday – Thursday.

Overtime opportunity as workload demands.

We are currently seeking a detail-orientated Estimator to join our team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accurately create and maintain BOM and labor routings required to manufacture various metal and wood products.
  • Determine most cost effective manner to produce various metal and wood products.
  • Prepare cost estimates to assist in sales.
  • Communicate with outside vendors to receive pricing on outside services.
  • Create templates on all new parts and maintain existing ones.
  • Work closely with designers and sales department.
  • Process Engineering Change Orders as needed.
  • Adjust labor routings and materials to meet product specifications.
  • Communicate with customers as needed

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • 2-year Technical Degree + one year related experience and/or
  • 2 years progressive cost estimating experience in metal fabrication environment.

Job Knowledge and Skills Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes is preferred.
  • Must be team-oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Highly computer competent. (JobBoss, Excel a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail orientated and have outstanding organizational skills.
  • Must be adaptable to change and possess good problem-solving skills.

Customer Account Manager

Northern Metal Products is currently seeking a Customer Account Manager to join our team!

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Professional communication with customers by phone or email.  Proactively communicate order status and delivery information, respond to customer requests, communication regarding quality issues or concerns, and general day-to-day customer activities.  
  • Process new and repeat orders in a timely and effective manner.  This includes active review and updates of changes in dates requested by the customer or internal production requests.  
  • Review the details of the purchase order and its terms and conditions to verify all purchase order requirements will be met.  All discrepancies need to be professionally communicated to the customer and followed-up for resolution.
  • Work closely with the sales team to support customer service activities, which may include generating customer data reports and special customer projects
  • Act as the customer liaison within Northern Metal to communicate customer needs and requirements to internal departments as needed.  This includes helping to set production priorities, communicating “real” delivery dates or schedules.
  • Work closely with production and purchasing departments communicating current production status activities and order changes to ensure on-time delivery.  

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years internal customer service experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office programs including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic business writing and professionalism.
  • Ability to think quickly and problem solve with limited supervision.
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Ability to work with numbers and basic math.
  • Excellent customer service skills; helpful, courteous and friendly.
